Shandon Cytospin 3

The Shandon Cytospin was the first device to use centrifugal force to separate and deposit a monolayer of cells on slides while maintaining cellular integrity. Features of the Shandon Cytospin 3 include producing a monolayer of cells within a clearly defined area, the sealed head protects the user from the danger of aerosoling pathogenic samples (load/unload within the safety of a microbiological cabinet), simultaneously spin up to 24 samples in 12 chambers, uses microtitre strips, Cytofunnel® Disposable sample chambers are available in sizes from 0.1 ml to 6 ml to accommodate a wide range of samples, 9-program memory, programmable acceleration speeds (200-2,000 rpm) ensure protection of all cell types, collect cells from any fluid matrix, concentrate specimen for Cytoblock® technique, optimize hypocellular fluids include CSF, capture crystals, applications span a range of disciplines including Cytology/Histology, Hematology/Oncology, Immunochemistry, Virology/Serology, Microbiology, and Rheumatology, all sample chambers can be capped, autoclavable sealed head completely contains aerosols, outer lid must be closed and locked for the unit to operate, and automatic specimen protection features.
