Chemestry Analyzers
Ciba Corning Express 550

This fully automated, random access, benchtop chemistry analyzer performs up to 180 tests per hour. An advanced multitasking operating system provides up to 48 user programmable tests. The 40-position sample transport tray, interchangeable with the FAST 4 Electrolyte Analyzer B6330-1, and 13-reagent tray are quickly loaded to provide 1 hour of "walkaway" operation. Bar coded reagents simplify the start-up procedure. Test parameters are then programmed directly from the bottle label or keyed in by hand. Reagents can be added in any order and in any position while system is running. Direct interface to the Model 664 FAST 4 Analyzer B6330-1 is possible.

Efficient stat mode directs user to place stat cups or tubes in available sampling position to protect against sample mix-up. Results available in 2 to 10 minutes. System returns to routine testing after stat test. All samples, stat or routine, are monitored for out-of-range results and low sample levels. Nonlinear and out-of-range results are automatically diluted and rerun for any predefined limit. The analyzer stores demographics and patient results for up to 360 patients.

An X-Y robotic probe preheats reagents prior to delivery. Thorough rinsing of both internal and external probes virtually eliminates carryover. Water-backed syringe system easily handles single, dual or triple reagent procedures. Uses 3 to 30mL of sample volume.

Stores three cuvette magazines, totaling 195 test wells. Fluid level sensors monitor water and waste level continuously.

A 9" CRT, "IBM-style" keyboard and built-in 40-column printer. Interim and final patient reports, complete with demographics, are available from resident thermal printer, CRT display or hard copy printer. A 720K floppy disk provides convenient storage of patient data.
